The project has run as a pilot since June 2019 following an initial idea from the Poverty Truth Commission. Further funding has secured continuation of the work and enabled us to further expand and develop it.

Historically, most people have accessed the Citizens Advice service by travelling to offices in Chester city centre and the town centres of Ellesmere Port, Northwich and Winsford.  Since the pandemic began, we have recognised we need to change this so we are setting up community access points in local communities across Cheshire West.

We are also developing a network of volunteer connectors who have been trained to recognise need and know where and how to connect people to support. If you are a local organisation or business and would be interested in getting involved please contact carla.preston@citizensadvicecw.org.uk
