Working in partnership with Chester Cathedral and thanks to funding from the Steve Morgan Foundation, we now have four volunteer money buddies who are able to offer a helping hand to people who are struggling with money issues.

Money buddies provide money guidance rather than debt advice: the support they give focuses on helping people achieve tasks to help them manage their money better. They can help people in a number of ways including:

● helping someone open a safe bank account
● simple form filling (apart from PIP)
● opening and sorting letters
● budgeting – looking at income and spending
● help people access money advice information or debt advice

At the moment they are able to provide phone and online support across the borough plus a little in-person support in Chester and Northwich.

If you would like to know more or have a task you would like a money buddy to help you or one of your clients with, please contact Nick Gill (nick.gill@citizensadvicecw.org.uk).
