• Location: Chester (travel across district required)
  • Hours: Part time, 18 hours per week (3 days)
  • Salary: £27,711 per annum (pro rata)
  • Contract: Fixed term for 1 year (with likely extension for a further year)

Make a Real Difference in People’s Lives

We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Outreach Adviser to support asylum seekers and refugees in our community. This is a vital role where you’ll provide free advice and support to people new to our country as well as helping them understand their rights and options.

What You’ll Do:

  • Explain how to access healthcare and mental health support
  • Provide free legal and practical advice on issues like money, bills, benefits, housing, and debt
  • Give clear advice on immigration (IAA Level 1), benefits, housing, debt, and more
  • Build trust with people new to the UK who may be hesitant to seek help
  • Work with local services to provide joined-up support
  • Raise awareness of available help to make access easier

What We’re Looking For:

  • Recent experience in advice work, especially IAA Level 1 immigration advice (experience with Citizens Advice is a plus)
  • A genuine desire to help people from other countries settle and thrive in our area
  • Good cultural awareness and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience using interpretation services like LanguageLine, or willingness to be trained
  • Strong people skills – you can build trust and rapport with ease
  • A full, clean driving licence and access to your own car – travel is essential
