• Salary: £28,420 per annum pro rata + excellent benefits
• Hours: 15 hours per week (2 consecutive days to be agreed)

• Location: Hybrid – home, office and outreach across Cheshire West (some travel required)

We are looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Macmillan Money & More Adviser to join our team.

You’ll provide generalist advice focused on financial wellbeing, helping people affected by cancer, their families and carers maximise income, access financial support and reduce financial pressures.

The role

You will:

• Maximise income: Help clients access benefits, grants and other financial support.
• Provide holistic advice: Support clients with benefits, debt, housing, employment and essential costs.
• Provide practical support: Help with forms and applications, respond to urgent issues and identify priorities.
• Work collaboratively: Deliver advice through outreach, home visits, telephone and email, working with partner organisations.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll have recent experience providing generalist social welfare advice and an understanding of the challenges associated with long-term illness, disability and cancer.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Calm & sensitive: Builds trust through empathetic listening, particularly in difficult circumstances.
• Clear & empowering: Provides accurate, accessible advice that helps clients make informed decisions.
• Organised & reliable: Manages caseloads, prioritises effectively and maintains accurate records.
• Collaborative & inclusive: Works positively with colleagues and partners, promoting dignity and equality.

Knowledge of Macmillan Cancer Support services and completion of the Citizens Advice basic training programme would be an advantage.

A full, clean driving licence and access to your own transport is required for outreach. This requirement will be waived if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
