  • Support clients to maximise their income and access their full benefit entitlement.
  • Work towards a target of six clients per week.
  • Prepare written submissions and support benefit appeals (not inc tribunal representation).
  • Liaise with statutory bodies, partner organisations and other agencies.
  • Maintain accurate case records and work in line with funder and Citizens Advice policies and quality standards.
  • Manage your own caseload while contributing to the wider Welfare Rights Team.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience providing welfare benefits advice, guidance or casework.
  • Strong working knowledge of the welfare benefits system.
  • Good IT literacy with excellent organisational and caseload management skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with clients, colleagues and external agencies.
  • The confidence to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and delivering a client-focused service.

Experience of working within the Citizens Advice service is highly desirable, particularly familiarity with our systems, processes and advice model.
